"Intertwined" by Gena Showaler

Known best for her adult paranormal romance series "Lords of the Underworld" and "Alien Huntress"; Gena Showalter has began writing a thrilling young adult fictional series titled "Intertwined".

In "Intertwined"- we meet 16 year old teen named Aden Stone who appears normal but is far from anything ordianary. Ever since Aden could remember he has had four human souls that are taken up residence in Aden's head- Eve, Julian, Caleb, and Elijah. Knowing his life is different from everyone else- Aden learned how to live with his bodyless friends during everyday life: aurguing amongst each other, casually conversing with him and themselves, forewarning him of impending doom, making other people do things his way (through body possession), waking the dead and traveling back in time! As if that was not enough to make he seem crazed; try having your dreams being invaded by a female who you have never met but have an unspoken bond with. So when the dream girl appears in real life- Aden makes the decision that he must know her at all costs to understand their connection to each other and how she able to get into his dreams. Victoria- Aden's dream girl, is far from the expected fairy princess that normally is drempted about ! Being the youngest daughter to the highest powered vampire Vlad, Victoria  is far from being friendly or welcoming towards humans especially since she was raised thinking humans are nothing but a food source. After meeting and getting more to a 1 on 1 bases, nothing will ever be close to his "normal" life after meeting Victoria; the girl from his dreams made reality. Not being new to the supernatural world- Aden is surrounded by even more supernatural beings than he knew exsisted, increasing life endangering events and death threats every corner he turns. This is all while trying to maintain the appearance of being normal psychologically stable to everyone else to stay out of his therapy sessons and mind altering medications.
With help of new found friends- Riley and Mary Ann; Aden is in desperate need to protect Victoria from her very controlling over-bearing father; help the souls be able to live a life on their own ( in their own body), trying to stay alive from anything raising from the dead along with any other death threats coming out of the wood work; all while trying to maintain good grades and staying out of trouble at school so Dan ( Aden's foster father) will continue to let him go to public school and keeping Aden's hopes of being almost normal a possiblity someday without having a death threat or his life in jeopardy at all hours of the day. How can one human with 4 souls, a vampire, a shape shifting werewolf, and a female who is drawn into this situation by accidental coincedence survive and prove that love can defeat anything? Will Aden ever find peace in his own head? And how does Elijah's impending death possibly occur?

This is a good hearted science fiction YA series as it explores how someone is judged by others especially in and around the "halfway homes" and psychwards without anyone trying to take time to just talk with that person and see what that person maybe really like instead of what we want to interpret and stereotyping just by what we see! I found it a great start to the series because you can seem to relate to atleast one of the souls while you find yourself getting excited for Aden in this adventure and craving to see how one teen can play a huge role in so many peoples lives while trying to himself alive while realizing how it just takes that one special person to change your life before you can even have a chance to resist any changes. The follow up book in this series is "Unraveled"; review to follow soon!

"A Questionable Hero" By Kiki Howell

I recently finished up the wonderful paranormal romance "A Questionable Hero" By Kiki Howell. Once I started reading this love story I had a difficult time getting my nose out of my Nook and back into reality since it was action packed from start to finish with very little breathing room in between the pages!
To most humans we are just that- human! But to some the human body is just a shell to what their soul is, possibly the body to one of God's Angels or the Devil's Demons. An angel is trained in Heaven to come down to Earth and save all of mankind from demons and damnation alike! But unlike God, the Devil has no concerns for a soul or who may get hurt/ killed in his conquest to gain world domination. The problem comes about when a demon not only fails to kill an opposing team member, but actually saves the angel from certain death from one of his own kind. As the fortunate angel, Shaebiel had only thought this was just a mere coincident that Abdamas came across her path. By stopping his brethren from killing Shabiel, Abdamas had prolonged her time on Earth so that in time he would be able to be with her along with actually hoping some day find out why he has felt an attraction that draws him to Shabiel long before she was aware of his existence on that fateful day.

Abdamas or otherwise known as Adam which his human mother called him- was born half human, half demon. Being a halfing does not just leave a person to question his own parents but also leave Abdamas questioning why is he drawn to an angel, why can he not just fight to destroy the enemy like his brethren but instead feeling the need to protect this angel as his own! The thoughts of protection for this beauty starting long before the fateful day their paths cross and Sabiel returns the favor to Abdamas of saving his life while repairing his wounds he recieved from protecting her from certian death! What Abdamas was unaware of is that through his one action of saving Sabiel's life she would be able to save his soul and easy his internal battle between good and evil. Now that they had each other- is Sabiel going to be punished for saving a sworn enemy from death? Is Abdamas going to burn in Hell for not completing his task of destroying ALL angels that come in his contact? And is the good thing to do always the right way to do it or is there more shades of grey that are left to be discovered???

I really enjoyed this book- the story was a new twist on on old scenero but in the end- Love conquers all! This is a story to warm up even the coldest of days and leaves you wondering- am I just following orders that I have in my daily life because I have been told that is how I am to be or am I living life according to what I believe is the best way to live to the fullest of my life! I look forward to reading more books from Kiki Howell in the future!

Until then- Happy Reading Everyone!

Final review of "Dead Witch Walking" by Kim Harrison

It had been a slow going beginning but about 70 pages in the storyline had pick up at a nice pace. I think that this book is a great opening for the series. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking for a book that is not just about sappy romance but with enough heat between Rachel, Ivy, Nick, and Trent that just increases the readers interest just to see how the situations outcome is revealed. I am ready to start reading the second in the series as soon as I can! I believe that now the background has been laid out, everything else for details will fall into place much smoother now!

Next on the reading schedual- "Ecstasy in the Darkness" by Gena Showalter only to follow up soon with "The Good, The Bad and The Undead" By Kim Harrison
